The challenge

Construction and demolition material leaves the city for processing and returns as new product, at avoidable cost and emissions.

The project

A municipal hub for sorting, storing and re-certifying construction and demolition materials for reuse in public works. The feasibility stage is testing whether public procurement volume alone can sustain the hub, or whether private demand is required from the start.

  • Defined reuse rate target for municipal construction contracts
  • Certified reuse stream for structural and non-structural materials
