Lifecycle stage

What this means for industry Supply chain and subcontracting opportunities may exist.

The challenge

A large share of the municipal housing stock was built before current insulation standards and is expensive to heat.

The project

Deep renovation of municipal housing blocks in sequenced tranches, combining envelope work, ventilation with heat recovery and connection to the low-temperature heat network. Tenants remain in place, which constrains the construction method and is reflected in the contract.

Expected impact

  • Measured energy performance improvement per renovated block
  • No permanent tenant relocation
  • Verified indoor air quality after renovation
